How soon should I arrange for a quotation?
It is never too early to contact a furniture removal company when you are planning an overseas move. We recommend you begin your search at least 12 weeks prior to your move, however some people start their search as soon as 12 months before. It is most important not to leave it until the last minute, which could result in hasty decisions.
How do you calculate the cost of my removal?
The cost of your removal is based on the volume of goods you would like to ship. To accurately assess the volume a full survey of your property is carried out by one of our International Moving consultants. This is also an opportunity to discuss your individual requirements, and we can answer any questions you may have.

Will you do all of the packing and unpacking?
Packing is an important part of our service; your furniture and effects will be travelling a long way and you want to be sure that everything arrives in one piece. Robinsons will tailor its packing service around your own specific needs. However, we strongly recommend that you consider the option of a 'full export pack'. The overall cost is relatively small compared to the additional benefits - such as increased insurance cover and greater physical protection for your furniture.
What happens when my goods arrive at their destination and who will deliver the goods to my new home?
Once your goods arrive in the UK, we will arrange customs clearance on your behalf. Your container will be delivered to your new residence at a convenient time to suit you. A Robinsons crew will arrive at the same time to unload the container and place all items into your property. Where agreed, Robinsons will unpack as much as you require and recycle or dispose of the packing materials.
Will I need to be in the UK when my goods arrive in order to clear customs?
The law states that you can have goods delivered 6 months in advance of your arrival into the UK. However, customs may levy a deposit from you which will be returned once you arrive in the UK.
