Well we’re here to give you the correct advice about what you should and shouldn’t be doing.

First of all, you should be 100% sure that you’ve sorted out your finances before you start to think about any kind of move to another country. Not only will you need to be on an even keel, so to speak, but you will also need to have the cash to hand for things like your flight out of the country, your international removals, your short term accommodation and also things like your groceries and car hire.

Lastly, one rather important thing that should be taken into account when you’re moving abroad to places like Australia or New Zealand. You need to have, at the very least, a rough idea about how you will earn, or save up enough money to pay for your lifestyle.

If you’re planning on moving abroad anywhere, then the one thing that you need to bear in mind that organising you removals and shipping is paramount. Whether you’re shipping to Australia from the UK or just over the channel to France, you should contact Robinsons international removals and see what prices they can offer you. Whether it’s a big job or a small job they are sure to offer you the best possible price which all helps you to save more money for when you finally get to your new home.

David Johnson, Essex Fire Service boss, has received cash to help him with his new property from no other than hard-earning British citizens.

The top geezer, who is being paid £148,633 salary and receives a £31,656 pension contribution a year, claimed monies from the taxpayer’s pockets to move out of the county and into Suffolk.

According to The Daily Mail, Mr Johnson received £3,704.60 towards new carpets, £3,466.93 for floor tiles and £324 for Laura Ashley curtains. Another £3,877.50 went on estate agent fees, £2,402 on Removals and £4,653 for a mortgage redemption penalty.

The claims have caused outrage amongst locals including Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles, the Conservative MP for Brentwood and Ongar. He reportedly said: “I am genuinely puzzled why someone who was appointed as head position in Essex Fire and Rescue should need money to move out of the county.”

The fire service, as with all other sectors such as police and councils, are trying to cut several millions of pounds from their budgets including cutting staff and pay wages.

Robinsons International’s removals service is quality and reputable as well as affordable.

If you have been struggling to sell your home, perhaps you are not doing everything as you possibly should be to make your sale as attractive as it could be.

Read our top tips about enhancing you property and just maybe 2011 can be the year that you nab the sale and are able to sell up and move on.

And we are not talking about completely re-decorating; only a few small changes to the layout, colour scheme or lighting can make your home a sure-buy and magnet for buyers.

Find out the maximum potential value of your property. It seems a waste of time and money to spend £10,000 improving the property if it will only add £5,000 on the sale price.

The best time for selling is in the season spring and autumn because the market is slower ion the rest of the year and therefore you are more likely to get the asking price.

MAINTENANCE

It may not seem obvious, but the maintenance of the home will sway the buyers’ minds as whether or not to buy it.

This means dripping taps, chipped woodwork, or a broken fence i.e. small DIY jobs need to be finished off to create that overall policed perception.

Clear the garden pathway to which potential clients walk up, mow the lawn, add a lick of paint to the front door and put on shiny new brass fittings to give that good first impression.

PRESENTATION

Inside the home, make sure it is clean and tidy, with the pots washed and put away making it as minimalistic and simple as possible. Buyers like space to be de-cluttered and mess-free to be able to envision their own belongings in there.

Placing flowers in each room creates that homely feel, smelling nice, pleasant and fresh. Avoid cooking strong food odours the night before such as fish or curry as the smell will linger. Freshly baked bread or fresh coffee is said to provide a welcoming feel to a home.

If you do want to put a little bit more effort in and you have the money to re-decorate, natural, earthy and pale colour shades are most preferable to buyers to maximise light and space.

AMBIENCE

And finally, if you have any pets it would be advisable to ask a family relative or close friend to look after them during the viewing. If the potential buyer is scared of dogs and yours is jumping up at them barking loudly it could put them off from buying the property.

Remember- be friendly, welcoming, and smile; ask them if they would like a drink and ensure they are seated comfortably.

If you follow our top tips you should be well on your way to bagging that sale and then all that is left is to find your new home and hire a reputable, quality Removals firm.

The New Year UK housing market is expected to be slow but stable, which is far healthier than its original dark forecast.

There is a glimmer of hope that house prices will remain steady until 2012, dipping slightly in the beginning of the year but slowly recovering from the summer onwards as the economy gets better.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors calculates price falls of up to two per cent early in 2011, especially in the north of England, which has the greatest number of job losses, redundancies and public sector cutbacks.

It has been reported by industry insiders that 2011 will be a year of two halves, with banks starting to lend in the latter part of the year.

House prices may not move much during the upcoming 12 months but they are certainly likely to rise significantly the following year.

Whereas the north of England will be hit the hardest the southern areas of England, such as London’s house prices, should perform more strongly than the rest of the UK.

Central London in particular will see price increases of five per cent or more this year; for example the West End, Notting Hill and Mayfair. And in 2012 see climbs of seven per cent and above.

This coincidently coincides with the 2012 Olympics and the Royal Wedding.

So if you want to take advantage of the steady but firm prices, or take advantage of the London house increases, hire the reputable quality Robinsons International as your Removals company.

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to 2011!

Here at Robinsons International we are super excited about the coming year and what it will bring.

In many cases, a new year can bring a fresh start, clean slate and a blank canvas to try new things in life.

It is something about the 1st of January that makes people analyse their lifestyles and encourages them to change, try new hobbies or kick-start something which they have been putting off for ages.

So what better way to do all these things, than moving into a new house?

Think about it; you are living in a new home and a new area where possibly no one knows you. This could mean you can have a brand-new bright start to the new ‘you’, leaving any problems or worries behind (and those nasty cobwebs!)

A new house is most definitely the best way to start a new and exciting year!

For a reputable, quality Removals firm that you can rely on to deal with all the stress and worry for you, visit www.robinsons-intl.com.

The housing market is extremely tentative at the moment, with house values not increasing and mortgage lending at an all-time low.

It seems one builder has come up with a very unusual technique to lure people into moving home; by giving away a machine.

Airevale Homes Estate Agents in Leeds are handing out a mini robot to anyone who reserves one of the few remaining four-bedroom town houses at the Upper reach development area, in Newlay, Yorkshire.

The machine, which is called ‘Roomba’, is a vacuum cleaner which can work its way round the carpet, avoiding obstacles on its very own.

It uses an infrared bumper so it can go slower when the device senses it is about to run into something or someone, so your couch won’t get marked and the coffee table is unlikely to be banged into.

The contraption normally sells at between £200–400 but is being given away for free.

So for anyone who is taking up on the offer and needs an experienced reputable Removals firm to help them move, visit Robinsons International today at www.robinsons-intl.com.

The snowfall across the UK over the past couple of weeks has wreaked havoc for removals firms.

Moving house is especially difficult and time-consuming at times but this has been made worse lately with the falling snow and icy roads.

Removals vans can find it hard to transport customer’s belongings to their new home when they become stuck in snow or slip in the dangerous driving environments.

This was evident from a case in Kent earlier this week, when a home-owner was caught up in a removals nightmare.

A man called Mark Sargeant who was moving into his house in St Johns Road, Sevenoaks, urgently appealed for help after his removal van got stuck just metres from his home.

He said: “All we had were the clothes on our back. Everything we own was in that van and now it is in some holding department in Maidstone.

“We have an eight-month-old baby, Ivy, and all her things are in the van so we have been trying desperately to get hold of someone with a 4×4 who could clear the road.”

With Robinsons you can be assured we will demonstrate our strong commitment to quality, reliability and flexibility during your removals; we have the highest professional and quality standards worldwide.

The number of Britons moving abroad is increasing, according to latest research.

Findings by Smart Currency Exchange shows there is a renewed interest amongst the over 50’s who are looking at buying holiday homes in France and Spain,

The number of enquiries is on the up with reasons for packing up and moving away including; for lifestyle reasons or as investments.

Popular places for the younger generation to relocate to are New Zealand, Australia and Canada.

Charles Purdy, Director of Smart Currency Exchange, said despite the recession: “The over 50s are still very wealthy. There is a confidence level coming back that previously did not exist.”

The UK travel industry is showing some signs of recovery with more people holidaying to the UK and making business trips, according to new figures released today by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

There are indications that the travel and tourism sector has become more stable with business visits recording short-term growth following a continual drop in the number of trips to and from the country.

The statistics show that between July and October, business related visits both to the UK and abroad by UK residents were six per cent higher than a year earlier, as well as holiday visits to the UK increasing six per cent.

ABROAD

It seems less people are travelling out of the country though with holiday visits abroad falling by three per cent.

The number of British citizens who went to Europe dropped by eight per cent from 47.0 million to 43.0 million, while those who went to North America fell decreased nine per cent from 3.8 million to 3.4 million. Of those visiting other parts of the world it fell by two per cent, from 9.1 million to 8.9 million.

The month May in particular saw an increase in air travel as the industry recovered from the effects of the volcanic ash cloud in April.

FOREIGN VISITORS

So we have established less people left the country, but on average more people did in fact visit the UK.

During the year, the number of visits by overseas residents and foreign visitors to the UK remained on average the same when compared to 2009 and this includes the UK visits by people from Europe, which stayed at 22.0 million; while those from North America fell by five per cent, from 3.5 million to 3.3 million.

Visits from other parts of the world did increase by a small two per cent to 4.3 million.

Roger Smith, Head of the International Passenger Survey for ONS, said: “It does appear that there are signs that the large falls we have seen in the recent past have begun to stabilise and show some signs of recovery. Business visits in both directions have picked up recently. October saw a small rise in holiday visits both to and from the UK compared with the same months a year earlier.”

When making the decision to pack up, sell your house and move abroad or relocate within the country, make the smart decision and use Robinsons International for quality, reputable removals.
