It was reported recently that Katy Perry and Russell Brand have split up and that Brand has filed for divorce to end their 14 month marriage.

Only in May last year, we report that the husband and wife were taking their new married life together to the next step and were looking for somewhere bigger to start a family.

But all that has come to an abrupt end after rumours were rife that the couple were experiencing marital problems. The pair spent Christmas thousands of miles apart and now removal vans have been spotted at the celebs’ home.

It is reported that the “Hot n Cold” singer is moving on from the relationship literally and has hired a moving firm to move all of her belongings out of the Los Angeles house they shared together.

The 27-year-old pop star has kept silent since the announcement of the break-up however she has recently posted a message on her social networking site Twitter to thank her fans for their kindness.

She tweeted: “I am so grateful for all the love and support I’ve had from people around the world…You guys have made my heart happy again.”

Perry is said to be making her first post-split appearance at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards in which she has been nominated for seven awards. However her comedian other half was also scheduled to attend but it has been reported that Brand has been uninvited to avoid any confrontations.

Robinsons International Removals can help in all stages of moving out of a home and can ease the pressure, especially when there are strained relations.

The Land Registry was created in 1862 to register the ownership of land and property in England and Wales and it has revealed Britain’s yearly house trends.

The non-ministerial government department and executive agency has publicised that the most expensive house sold in 2011 went for a staggering £19.25 million. This is in stark contrast to the cheapest purchase which was just £16,000.

The findings show that the most costly property which was flogged was a detached house in the upmarket suburb of Hampstead in North London and the low-priced property was a terraced in Middlesbrough.

According to Land Registry, the region with the biggest house price rise over the year was London at a 1.4% rate. In comparison, the North East of England has seen the biggest drop in house prices at 5.4%.

The yearly house trend analysis exposed that between January and the end of November 2011, the average house price nationwide was £161,727 whereas last year it was £164,916- a fall of over three thousand pounds.

So with 2011 coming to an end, let’s all look forward to the upcoming year and if you plan on starting afresh in the New Year and moving home, make sure you use the experts at Robinsons International Removals.

She recently underwent throat surgery for a haemorrhaged vocal cord but it seems multi-award winning singer Adele is still living in fear of harming her voice.

The 23-year-old is reportedly considering moving out of England’s capital over fears that the smog is damaging her singing voice.

The “Rolling in the Deep” songstress, who was born in Tottenham, is said to be looking at properties in West Sussex between £2 and £3 million.

Ironically, the London girl rose to fame with her first hit “Chasing Pavements” in 2007 which stated the lyric: “I like it in the city when the air is so thick and opaque.”

The English songwriter underwent an operation in Massachusetts in America last month and although it reportedly went well, doctors have warned her to take good care of herself. A source told the Mirror that it was suggested to her to move out of the city into the countryside, away from London’s smog and pollution.

Perhaps the Grammy award winner should listen to the doc’s advice. Adele’s second album, 21, is the tenth best-selling LP the UK has ever seen. The track “Rolling in the Deep” was the top-selling digital song sold in 2011 and sold more copies than any other song in the calendar year in digital history.

The Official Charts Company announced that Adele is the first living artist to achieve the feat of two top five hits in both the UK Official Singles Chart and the Official Albums Chart simultaneously since the Beatles in 1964.

‘21’ spent 11 consecutive weeks at number one in the UK, the longest ever by a female solo artist on the UK albums chart, surpassing Madonna’s nine weeks at number one in 1990. As of December 2011, including both of her albums, Adele has sold 18 million albums worldwide.

George Osborne has announced new transport initiatives to boost a number of living locations in the UK.

The Chancellor said in his Autumn Statement that 35 rail and road schemes will be launched in North Cambridge, North Bucks/Oxfordshire and Battersea, South London which is great news for the housing market and might even increase local house prices.

The new or improved transport infrastructure can make a significant difference to house owners and house hunters because if it is easier to commute to a nearby city, a house for sale may become more valuable. Location is key when it comes to buying a property and if the travel is eased, the home may be more sought-after.

And if improvements are made to certain roads, certain employment hotspots can be enhanced.

The Chancellor has promised support in Cambridge to the A14 and there are hopes for North Buckinghamshire and North Oxfordshire. There is a proposed East-West train link from Cambridge to Oxford and beyond via Milton Keynes and Bedford.

What is more, there is the projected HS2, a controversial high-speed line that will cut a swathe past Aylesbury and to the west of Buckingham to Birmingham and beyond. Winslow has also wished-for a stop.

If you are fortunate enough to entice bidders for your house that is on the market, due to the suggested rail and road schemes, make sure you hire expert removals services from the professionals Robinsons UK International Movers.

Or if you are looking for a property to buy and have found one that has great accessibility to commute to work, contact Robinsons UK and International Removals today and let us help you from the very beginning of the removals process to ease all the pressure and strain!

Some new findings show that Brits are ditching the DIY and opting for a new house that is easy to maintain and efficient to run.

There are several advantages and disadvantages to living in an old or a new house. Here Robinsons UK International Movers makes the comparison.

OLD HOMES

With regards to an old house, the positives are that with archaic properties they do have character, historic features and stories behind the walls. Older structures have stood the time for decades.

The downsides however are that they do need a considerable amount of maintenance due to old heating systems and pipe work. The floors may slope, the chimney foundation may require tuckpointing and it can be very expensive to replace or repair the wiring and plumbing. Generally the homes from hundreds of years ago were smaller and had smaller closets and rooms so if you have a large family, it may become crowded.

NEW HOMES

New houses on the other hand can have their advantages in that they have spacious layouts, brand new décor and are ready as soon as you walk through the door. Some new homes allow Brits to specify features such as the kitchen cabinets and bathroom tiles and personalise them in a way.

What is more, new homes have built-in top-of-the-range fixtures, fittings, kitchens and bathrooms as well as double glazing and energy efficient boilers. Overall, they are more economical to run as they are insulated and have fewer drafts.

However, it can be said that modern homes have no character and that each one is exactly the same and is therefore not distinctive or offers individuality. Homeowners may be able to put their own stamp on it in terms of colour schemes or furniture but the general structure is generic.

Many new houses settle regardless of the type of soil and therefore cracks appear in walls. Furthermore, you won’t find mature trees or vegetarian because trees take years to grow so the garden may not be as picturesque.

OLD V NEW

It all depends on the homeowner- do you want to put the time, money and effort in to build something up from scratch or do you want to walk into something ready-made?

Whatever type of house you decide to move into; make sure you ‘contact us’ today to move all your belongings.

Michelle Traill, from Blackburn, has reportedly suffered three winters of gritting nightmares as the road outside her house gets frosty and speeding cars end up hitting her car or ploughing into her garden.

The 45 year-old says that cars have crashed into her garden bushes and damaged her husband’s car several times after losing control at the T-junction.

The situation has got so bad for the woman that she has contacted the local council on multiple occasions to request a grit bin but nothing has been done, and now she is contemplating hiring removals and moving home.

Mrs Traill said the maniac drivers in the area just zoom round the corner and cannot stop. But the authority argues that the road does not qualify for a grit bin and that as a result of budget cuts, they are unable to place grit bins around the borough. To refill the 400 bins is reportedly a mammoth task and takes approximately two weeks.

Robinsons removals UK has years of experience in expert removals so regardless of the weather conditions, we can move all your belongings safely and securely.

To move home simply because of the road outside is a drastic measure to make but whatever your reason is to change property, the specialists at Robinsons International can help.

Brits have many personal motives for moving home including job relocation or upgrading/downsizing. What is important is that if you have made the decision to move to another part of the UK- you pack, transport and store all your possessions carefully with professional services.

‘Contact us’ today and see how we can help, or simply call free for moving advice…

Hundreds of thousands of homeowners are stuck in their first homes because their parents are hogging up the housing market, according to a report by HSBC.

Findings by the banking giant show that as many as 360,000 buyers who bought their starter homes in 2007 are trapped in them and unable to move up the property ladder.

The research revealed that properties from four years ago have not appreciated in value and some are even worth less than what they were paid for. As a result, the generation gap is having serious implications on when families have children and how many children they have.

The study found that the average first-time buyer property in 2007 cost £160,000 and needed a 10% deposit but since then the property prices have dropped by on average £11,000. And according to the Council of Mortgage Lenders the average age of a first-time buyer is now 31 but only if they have financial help from parents- if not, the age rises to 37.

One mother told The Mail Online: “It seems cruel, doesn’t it, that a financial crisis and a property slump could determine the size of your family?”

Many first-time buyers who are trying to buy a home have to fork out a massive 30% deposit nowadays, leaving many Brits unable to borrow or save their way through the dilemma.

Now David Cameron has vowed to improve the housing market and ‘get Britain building’. The Prime Minister has said that buyers of new homes will be able to borrow up to 95% of the value in a bid to help Brits get onto the property ladder.

Let’s hope the government plans come into fruition and more people can afford to buy their starter home, hire Robinsons international removals and begin an exciting new life together!

The best new homes in Britain have been named in the Daily Telegraph’s Homebuilding and Renovating Awards 2011.

The newspaper’s annual award takes place to search for Britain’s best home makers and it commends people who have converted their home, created an extension on the existing building or produced a complete self-build.

It recognises the achievements of self-builders, renovators and barn converters across Britain. And the lucky winners have finally been announced!

Jason Orme, editor of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, and one of the three judges, said: “It’s the 19th year these awards have been running and each time, the stories we unearth manage to top the stories from the previous year.”

The categories included;

- Traditional Self Build

- Residential Design

- Eco House

- Remodel/Extension

- Conversion

- Renovation

- Value for Money

- Contemporary

- Overall Winner

The various awards recognise projects that improve old homes to bring them up-to-date; distinguish self-built or renovated homes that have gone beyond the minimum and achieved exemplary energy-efficiency standards; and find the best one-off home that has been self-built in a contemporary style.

The people of the projects that triumphed in the self-build awards can now hire Robinsons removals UK services and move into their fabulous new homes.

Many of the builders transformed ugly derelict houses into sleek contemporary homes to sell on. One man from Norfolk earned the “Value for Money” accolade because he spent £150,000 building a four-bedroom house which now has a market value of £400,000.

So if you fancy buying one of the renovated buildings, contact Robinsons International to move all your belongings into the home.

It can be stressful to move home at any time of the year but moving at wintertime can boast its advantages as well as disadvantages.

Winter weather conditions can cause havoc for removal vans with the icy roads and falling snow. Removal vans can find it hard to transport customer’s belongings to the new homes if they get stuck in the snow, or slip in the dangerous driving settings.

But moving in the winter season can also reap its benefits because the market is fairly quiet and you may save money. This means that a removal company can help you right from the beginning stages with packing, transportation and insurance services.

A top tip from Robinsons International is to be prepared. By planning ahead and checking the weather forecast in advance, the whole process can run smoothly without any hitches. We can give you a checklist of all the things you need to know beforehand so nothing gets forgotten and you don’t get left standing in the cold.

If it is bad weather or hailing on the day, salt the driveway, door path and steps, and shovel away the snow to prevent anyone slipping when carrying heavy boxes.

Make sure you use durable material to move all your possessions. The ordeal can turn nasty if the boxes get wet or damp and break apart. And as well as safeguarding the moving boxes, cover all the furniture with protective gear so the couch and chairs don’t get ruined.

Expert advice from Robinsons removals UK is to wrap up warm when moving. Try not to pack all your clothes and have extra jumpers, scarfs and gloves on-hand for the big day. The removal men will appreciate it if you keep the kettle out so you can make them hot brews to keep warm. And it is a great tool to keep hands warm so they don’t get stiff.

Follow these helpful tips and have a stress-free house move this season!

David Cameron has vowed to ‘get Britain building’ as part of the government’s plans to improve the housing market.

The Prime Minister has said that buyers of new homes will be able to borrow up to 95% of the value in a bid to help 100,000 Brits get onto the property ladder.

The new mortgage indemnity scheme is part of a wider strategy to build more homes and boost home ownership which is great news for Britons trying to sell their homes and move. It will enable lenders to provide mortgages up to 95% of the value of newly built homes to budding first-time buyers- supported by government guarantees and the government underwriting part of the risk.

It is reported that building more homes is now one of the coalition’s economic priorities with the number of new ones being built at its lowest ever record since World War II. Just over 120,000 new homes were made available last year.

However, the key proposals are to make more public sector land available for building and £440 million public funding to help developers ‘unblock’ stalled housing schemes. It is estimated that 130,000 building projects have been delayed due to funding problems.

Mr Cameron said the aim is to help the many people who cannot afford huge deposits needed to buy properties- so this means that the chances of people being able to afford to buy houses will increase which is great news for Robinsons removals UK.

The PM added: “When first-time buyers on a good salary cannot get a reasonable mortgage, the whole market grinds to a halt.

“If we don’t do something like this we are not going to get this vital market moving… we will restart the housing market and get Britain building again.”

If the scheme comes into fruition and you are fortunate enough to find a buyer for your home, contact Robinsons International for expert home removal services.
