Shipping To Australia: Melbourne Most Liveable City 2011

Monday, September 5th, 2011

A published survey has revealed that Melbourne in Australia is the world’s most liveable city.

For almost a decade, Vancouver in Canada has held the title in the annual Global Liveability Survey but the latest results has found that Australia has now topped the list; so if you want to live in the best rated location in the world use Robinsons International’s expert shipping Australia services to transport all your belongings.

The cities were assessed on stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure; and Australia and Canadian cities dominated seven out of the top 10 spots.

The most liveable cities 2011 were;

1.             Melbourne (Australia)

2.             Vienna (Austria)

3.             Vancouver (Canada)

4.             Toronto (Canada)

5.             Calgary (Canada)

6.             Sydney (Australia)

7.             Helsinki (Finland)

8.             Perth (Australia)

9.             Adelaide (Australia)

10.          Auckland (New Zealand)

As part of the survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit, 140 cities were surveyed. It said scores in Europe were down due to the Eurozone crisis which resulted in Athens, in Greece falling by 2.5%. The impact of the civil war in Libya has also decreased the liveability scores across the Middle East and North Africa. London in England ranked 53.

Australia reportedly recorded high due to relatively low crime rates and despite the rising costs of living, the cities offer a range of highly attractive factors.

Research Shows House Price Gap Is At Its Widest In A Decade

Friday, July 15th, 2011

The typical home in London is now worth 113% more than the average home in England and Wales according to some latest research.

It means that the gap in house prices between London, England and Wales is at its widest in a decade.

Research from an estate agent called Savills shows that the English capital is stemming ahead than the rest of the country and Wales in terms of house price. According to its analysis of Land Registry data, the agent has found that the gap has become particularly pronounced- more so now than 10 years ago.

In 1995 the difference between the typical house prices was just 47%, and in 2005/6 it had soared to 73% but this is a stark alteration to the latest figures of over 100 per cent.

A typical four-bed family home in prime south west London is now in the region of £1.325 million but by contrast, an equivalent home in the prime commuter zone just outside London and the M25 is around £805,000. By simply moving out of prime London there is a saving of £520,000.

So if you want to save some money and would rather move out of the busiest area and commute into London to work, contact the expert removals firm Robinsons International.

Move Out Of London With Robinsons’ Removals Firm And Commute

Friday, May 27th, 2011

Land Registry, the government department responsible for home-owner monitoring service, has stated that by moving out of England’s capital London and by commuting in to work, you can get far more home value for your money.

Working and living in a bustling city is fun but expensive as opposed to setting up home in a beautiful village, town or settlement on the outskirts. Guides are suggesting to home-owners to live in a place that is surrounding the capital that is within an hour’s commute in hope to escape the chaos as well as save money.

According to the Land Registry the average flat in Greater London is almost £340,000 whilst a typical detached house is just around £810,000. However, a short leap, step and a jump outside the M25 area and house prices plummet between 20% and 40%; which in these present times is a massive saving.

So why not hire a Removals firm and move down the road (so to speak), get a larger home and be quid’s in? Great value for money!
